“Andy Warhol’s MTV” on view at Art Museum of South Texas

Each semester the Art Museum of South Texas enlists a TAMU-CC professor to respond to one of our current exhibitions. This interdisciplinary collaboration lends context and new insights to the artwork on display. The selected professor crafts a unique response to the work incorporating their own research, expertise, and interests.

In Exploring Popularity, Dr. Ethan Thompson responded to the exhibition Warhol, Johns, and Stella: Revisited, through research into the appearances of Andy Warhol on MTV. The resulting “Andy Warhol’s MTV” documentary and screen prints were displayed during two free community nights at AMST in November and December 2022.
